Joan of Arc (1412-1431) died at the stake, condemned for heresy. The visions of this young peasant girl guided her to change the course of the Hundred Years' War. The extensive historical documentation that survives from this trial provides literary substance for this theatrical concert within the Mystic Women series, in which an actor embodies Bishop Pierre Cauchon and an actress plays Joan herself. It is accompanied by music from the leading composers of the early 15th century.
